Armadillos Jump?

Well, I wanted to share with you something I learned while on our trip to Granger, IN. Not sure how we got on the subject ... but Marshall (the all knowing) informed us that when armadillos are frightened suddenly, like by a car, they will jump straight up! Who knew? This is not good news for the armadillo! I did believe Marshall, but still wanted to Google it ... this is what I found ...

Why Does the Armadillo Jump?

The armadillo jumps because he is surprised. Here is a photograph of an actual armadillo caught in mid-jump! Armadillos prefer to defend themselves by: diving into their burrows, hastily digging a new burrow, and the best known defense, rolling into a ball. In addition to these behaviours, sometimes when they are surprised, they will jump straight up. Unfortunately, this is no defense against automobiles, their main Texas predator!

See ... the trip was very educational! :)

Polar Opposites

If you know both David Kay and Marshall Croy … you know before I even say it, they are polar opposites! I had the privilege of traveling with a group from our church to the Innovate Conference at Granger Community Church in Granger, Indiana this past week. It was a refreshing time of new ideas and meeting with churches and businesses that truly love Jesus. I really appreciated the opportunity to be able return to Granger again this year.

Anyway, spending a few days (instead of 2 hours in corn field) with Marshall & David was a true joy. God made us all different and our church is privileged to have both of these men of God on our team. David brings all the life, excitement and energy you can stand. Marshall is our firm foundation … our stability … our organizer … our level head … all this with a great sense of humor! He really takes care of our people in a way most of you don’t even know. If you don’t know it, they both have a heart of gold …a servants heart … a heart for Jesus.

The Innovate Conference reminded all of us why we do what we do and how we must reach out to our culture and community just as Jesus did. GCC's saying is “Bring Up There, Down Here!” Pretty good advice!

Anyway … being with my brothers and sisters this past week reminded me that we are all different and need to embrace our differences … we all have something to give. We can’t all be like Marshall. We can’t all be like David. (Hmmm … Maybe that’s one we should add to our praise list this week).

Ninja Cat

OK ... my cat used to do this ... it was a game we played often. This kitty even looks a lot like he did ... but he's been gone almost 20 years now. Now I'm sad :(

Turtle+Frog+Spider

Found this on my nieces blog ... had to share! Wow what the will to survive will do!

"After three days of storms and rain, we found these three floating in a pool filter, clinging to each other to survive. All of them were exhausted from the effort and were reluctant to part ways after being rescued."

New Fav

OK ... I may have a new favorite movie ... I LOVE all the Tyler Perry Movies but have you seen "Meet the Browns?"

A few of my favorite quotes ...
"People's dying that ain't never died before."

"Don't be going gospel gangsta' on me baby."

"Sit on down there with all the draama."

"Uh, Uh ... you a lie ... the devil is a lie."

The outtakes at the end may be the best part ...

"Why is people always dying in Bereaved family. Every time I look in the paper, somebody in the Bereaved family has died. If they keep dying ... ain't nobody gonna be left in the family."

Brown was introducing his daughter Cora to her dead grandaddy that she had never met and broke into song ... I was in tears laughing! "This is your grannnnndaaaadddddy, your grannnnndaaaadddddy, your grannnnndaaaadddddy, your grannnnndaaaadddddy."
